 Our Mission

To provide economic and social assistance for  the vulnerable.

Who We are

We are Burmese Americans who have successfully

assimilated into American society. We want to provide other resident Burmese and new immigrants the benefit of our knowledge and international experience to promote successful integration and intervene in issues facing youth today.

We are:
Important agents of the civil society;
Change Agent;
Genuine partners of public sector as well as business group in the attainment of poverty reduction and social objectives;

We are not sub-contracting of placid NGOs, but a "genuine partnership between NGOs and the government to work on  problems  facing the region, based on mutual respect.
We are not competing alternatives but are complementary contributions.

We care about the needs of the weak. We can serve most effectively as a broker, catalyst, and/or facilitator between the poor/disadvantaged segments of the community and existing businesses and industries in the State. We share ideas and resolve common problems, test best practices, steward knowledge and add value. We marry excellence and value and make the best use of scarce resources.

Why are We

There is a growing need for certain services by youth and disadvantaged family of the Burmese and others in the community that have not been met by the established systems. Board members have been volunteering and working individually to fill this need and now have decided to work together and establish a center where clients can visit on a walk-in or referral basis to receive counseling, mentoring, education and referral services as determined necessary to break the downward cycle of despair prevalent in society today .

Although the initial target group is the Burmese population in the twin city metro area with expansion to others requiring similar services is our ultimate goal.

Our plan is to request a grant to cover 100% of the operations cost for the first year and decreasing each year thereafter, as funds are available to the organization.
